Our scope on stocks.
InvestingPro is not a stock-analysis platform. We list every NSE-traded company as a public reference catalog and we publish calculators a long-term investor needs — but we don't rate individual stocks, set target prices, or issue research notes.
What we publish — and what we don't.
- Reference catalog of every NSE-listed equity, grouped by official NSE sector indices.
- Per-stock public reference data: name, symbol, sector, market cap, ISIN, latest closing price, day change, 52-week range. Source: NSE's public archive (EQUITY_L) and Yahoo Finance's public chart feed, refreshed daily after market close.
- IPO content — upcoming IPOs, GMP (grey market premium) context, allotment-status guides. Same reference frame: we tell you what an IPO is and how to apply, not whether to subscribe.
- Generic-decision calculators: SIP, lumpsum, brokerage, capital gains, position-sizing. None of these recommend a specific stock.
- Long-form educational articles on portfolio construction, asset allocation, tax treatment of equities, and the difference between investing styles (value / growth / index).
- Buy / sell / hold ratings on any individual security. Ever.
- Target prices or price forecasts. Stock prices are an output of the market, not of our editorial.
- Per-company research noteswith thesis, catalyst, risk factors. That's the work of a SEBI-registered Research Analyst — and we're not one.
- Stock tips, hot picks, or pump-style “multibagger” lists. SEBI's 2024 Finfluencer guidance specifically calls these out, and they violate our editorial standards regardless.
- Portfolio recommendationstailored to your situation. We can't see your tax slab, horizon, or risk appetite — only a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser who has your full picture can.
We point you elsewhere — on purpose.
If you're looking for buy/sell calls, target prices, or fundamental-research dossiers on a specific company, the right places are:
- A SEBI-registered Research Analyst(typically your broker's research desk — Zerodha Pulse, ICICI Direct Research, Motilal Oswal, HDFC Securities, Kotak Securities). They publish under SEBI's Research Analyst Regulations 2014 and carry compliance obligations.
- A SEBI-registered Investment Adviser (RIA) — for personalised portfolio guidance based on your goals. The official SEBI list is at sebi.gov.in.
- Primary sources for fundamentals: company filings on BSE, NSE, and annual reports on MCA21.
We deliberately don't compete with these. There are dozens of well-resourced stock-research platforms in India (Tickertape, Screener, Tijori, Trendlyne); duplicating their work would distract from what we're good at — long-term wealth-building education, multi-product comparison, and calculator-grade math.

- How we rate demat brokers → (we score brokers on fees + features, not the stocks they let you buy)
