Refund policy
Most of InvestingPro is free. This page covers refunds for the paid services that exist today (none) and for the premium tier when it launches.
Current status
InvestingPro charges users nothing today. Articles, calculators, product comparisons, glossary, and the newsletter are free. Revenue comes from affiliate commissions paid by the financial-product providers when you choose to apply through a link on our site. We do not pass any cost to you for that.
This policy is published in advance of the premium tier (InvestingPro Plus) so the refund framework is in place before any payment is collected.
1. What this policy covers
This refund policy applies to any direct payment you make to InvestingPro for a paid service. When premium launches, that will mean:
- InvestingPro Plus monthly or annual subscription
- One-off premium-content purchases (if offered)
- B2B API access to calculators and methodology data
It does not apply to: financial products you obtain via affiliate links (those refunds are governed by the actual product provider — your bank, AMC, insurer, broker), nor to advertising or sponsorship arrangements (governed by individual contracts).
2. Refund window for premium subscriptions
When the premium tier is live, the refund framework will be:
- Monthly subscription: 7-day no-questions-asked refund window from the date of charge. After 7 days, the current billing cycle is non-refundable but you can cancel for the next cycle from inside your account.
- Annual subscription: 14-day no-questions-asked refund window from the date of charge. After 14 days, refunds are pro-rated for unused months at our discretion if you cancel for a documented reason (e.g. a quality issue we cannot resolve).
- Auto-renewal: always disclosed upfront. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time from your account; the change applies to the next billing cycle.
3. How to request a refund
Email contact@investingpro.in from the email address associated with your account. Include:
- The order ID / transaction reference shown in the payment receipt
- The date of the original charge
- The reason for the refund (optional within the no-questions-asked window, mandatory after)
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 7-10 business days of approval. We do not process cash refunds.
4. Affiliate purchases — out of scope
When you click an “Apply Now” button on InvestingPro, you are taken to the financial-product provider's own application flow. InvestingPro never collects payment, never issues the product, and never holds your funds. The provider is the actual seller / lender / insurer / fund manager.
If you want to cancel a credit-card application, a mutual fund investment, a loan disbursement, or an insurance policy you obtained via our link, please use the provider's own cancellation / free-look window:
- Insurance: 30-day free-look period (15 days for non-electronic policies) is mandated by IRDAI for life and health insurance policies.
- Credit cards: No statutory free-look, but most issuers allow card closure within the first 30 days without joining-fee charge. Check the cardholder agreement.
- Loans:RBI's 2023 guideline allows pre- payment of floating-rate retail loans without penalty for individuals. Check the sanction letter for any fixed-rate prepayment charge.
- Mutual funds: Open-ended units can be redeemed any time (subject to exit load if within the load period). ELSS has a 3-year statutory lock.
If a provider you applied to through our link fails to honour their own refund commitments, you may raise it via /grievance and we will help you escalate to the appropriate regulator (RBI Ombudsman, IRDAI Bima Bharosa, SEBI SCORES).
5. Disputes & escalation
If a refund request is denied and you disagree, you may:
- Escalate via /grievance — Co-Founder Priyanka responds within 30 days as Grievance Officer
- File a chargeback through your bank or card network (Visa / MasterCard / Rupay / UPI)
- Escalate to the relevant payment-system Ombudsman if the issue concerns processing
